JON CRYER IS A FAMILY MAN • The actor, who won two Emmys for his work on the sitcom Two and a Half Men, returns to the genre with the new comedy Extended Family (Jan. 2 on NBC and next day on Peacock). In it, Cryer plays Jim Kearny, a recent divorcé who is splitting time with his ex, Julia (Abigail Spencer), at the family home so the kids don’t have to be shuttled around. Things go well until Julia falls for Trey (Donald Faison), the owner of Jim’s favorite sports team, and child-sharing gets complicated. Here are several fun facts about the 58-year-old native New Yorker.
AL ROKER • The weather and feature anchor and cohost of the third hour of Today, 69, will be waking up early on New Year’s Day to provide color for the 25th time for the 135th Rose Parade presented by Honda (January 1 on NBC). Roker will be joined by Hoda Kotb high above the streets of Pasadena, Calif., giving them a bird’s-eye view of the gorgeous rose-covered floats and marching bands partaking in the annual New Year festivities.
