Magazine

A pop culture influencer for 80+ years, Parade magazine delivers the entertainment insights of columnist Walter Scott, puzzles from resident genius Ask Marilyn, lifestyle tips, timely interviews with celebs—from Clint Eastwood to Quinta Brunson—and premium features on trending pop culture topics.

BETTE MIDLER IS THE BOSS • Midler hangs up her Hocus Pocus 2 witch’s wardrobe for fully modern apparel in the upcoming Sitting in Bars with Cake (Sept. 8 on Prime Video). Inspired by true events, it’s a celebration of female friendship told through the lives of BFFs Jane (Yara Shahidi) and Corinne (Odessa A’zion). Corinne convinces her shy friend to commit to a year of baking cakes and bringing them to bars with the goal of meeting people—until a life-altering diagnosis changes everything. Following are highlights from the life of the Divine Miss M, 77, who appears as Corinne’s boss-mentor Benita, a talent agent with a warm heart.

MELISSA ETHERIDGE • The “Come to My Window” Grammy Award-winning singer, 62, took a break from writing songs to pen her second memoir, Talking to My Angels (Sept. 4). In the 20 years since Etheridge’s first account of her life, she became a mother again, recorded 11 albums, toured the world, won an Oscar, discovered her true love, survived breast cancer and the death of her son Beckett to opioid addiction, and underwent a spiritual awakening. She chronicles it all on the pages of Talking to My Angels, as well as the lessons she has learned.
