Magazine

A pop culture influencer for 80+ years, Parade magazine delivers the entertainment insights of columnist Walter Scott, puzzles from resident genius Ask Marilyn, lifestyle tips, timely interviews with celebs—from Clint Eastwood to Quinta Brunson—and premium features on trending pop culture topics.

DAKOTA FANNING JOINS THE CIA • Nineteen years ago—when she was 10 years old—Dakota Fanning starred in Man on Fire with Denzel Washington. Now, the two have reunited for Equalizer 3 (Sept. 1, USA), which marks the final appearance of Washington as Robert McCall. For the story, the action moves to Southern Italy where McCall has found peace and made friends…until he discovers that his new pals are under the control of local crime bosses. Fanning, playing a young CIA agent, arrives in town after reports of mafia violence. Here are some fun facts about the Georgia-born former Girl Scout, 29, who’ll play opposite Andrew Scott in the upcoming Ripley series.

BARATUNDE THURSTON • The New York Times bestselling author (How to Be Black), podcaster (How To Citizen With Baratunde), and commentator, 45, returns as host for a second season of America Outdoors With Baratunde Thurston (Sept. 6 on PBS). Thurston, who helped launch The Daily Show With Trevor Noah in 2015 and is a founding partner of a new media start-up called Puck, will take viewers off the beaten path to explore what drives our passion for Mother Nature as he highlights the outdoor cultures of Utah, Maine, Arkansas, New Mexico, Oregon and the Suwannee River in Georgia and Florida.
