STUNNING 1955 FERGUSON TE-T INDUSTRIAL TAKES ALL AT NEWARK • Best Ferguson in Show went to Jonathan Haire and his concours style 1955 TE-T industrial in a green Ministry of Supply livery; it included a genuine Ferguson crane on the back and the correct sprung bumper. This was placed in the Friends of Ferguson Heritage area in the extensive Sir John Eastwood Buildings. There were crowds around this tractor all the time, which is a stunning concours grade 6 restoration, while Jonathan was in conversation with the punters for the entire duration of the show.

FAMILY TRACTORS SHINE • The rally season came to a close at the excellent Newark Vintage Tractor & Heritage Show over 8–9 November, with a good footfall on the Saturday, although it was rather quiet on the Sunday. It was certainly very mild right across the Newark Showground site, with the best weather ever recorded for this show.

MASSEY MAN TAKES BRITISH VINTAGE CHAMPION TITLE • On Sunday, in foggy conditions, Ferguson and Massey Ferguson men won through to take top honours at the 74th British National Ploughing Championships, which took place between 11–12 October.

BACK TOGETHER • We look at a 1947 Massey-Harris 55 that was imported new from the USA to a dealer in Nottinghamshire and was to work in the county all its life, ending up with the famous Beeby Brothers of Rempstone on possibly the last professional threshing round in the United Kingdom.

DOWN ON THE FARM WITH A 1080 PART 1 • The Massey Ferguson 1080 was introduced in 1969 and built for the European market, writes Bob Weir. Ray Bower from Staffordshire owns a fine example.

THE STOP-GAP RANGE – THE MASSEY FERGUSON 600 SERIES • Jonathan Whitlam says: Arriving on farms during 1982 the Massey Ferguson 600 Series is probably one of the most overlooked classic era tractor ranges from the company. The reasons are very clear with hindsight, as they followed hot on the heels of the groundbreaking 500 Series...
