Playboy Playmate Dolly Read Star of Russ Meyer's Beyond the Valley of the Dolls

Playboy's Playmate for May 1966, Dolly Read, has an interesting story. Originally from Avon in England, she was discovered by Playboy photographer Pompeo Posar while working as a Bunny in the Chicago Playboy club. She later married highly successful comedian Dick Martin, the star of NBC's hit program "Laugh In". Dolly became an actress in her own right. Her most memorable role came in the 1970s Russ Meyer sexploitation film "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls". A fellow Playmate, busty Cynthia Myers of Toledo, Ohio, was also a star in the film.
