City Stories • Belgian architect Laurent Pereira is a co-founder of Seoul-based firm Chae-Pereira Architects. Through his graphic novel series Seoul Chronicles he documents the lives and activities of those who call the city home. While his stories are fictional, they’re deeply related to his experiences and understanding of his adopted city and its inhabitants, and inspired by ‘fragments, myths, family events and memories of youth collected over time’. He created this short story for Design Anthology

Giving Voice • While South Korea has a history of powerful families and dynastic traditions, one gets the sense that women in the country’s art world are working hard to subvert traditional roles and make new voices and narratives heard. We spoke with Bo Young Song of Kukje Gallery, curator Hyunjin Kim and pioneering artist Kyungah Ham to understand their individual roles within the Korean art world.
