Grades 4-6 Wildlife concerns play a secondary role in this entry in the Animal Rescue Team series that focuses on 10-year-old Keishas struggles to keep up with the Grand River Steppers jump-rope team. Meanwhile, Keishas familys animal-rescue organization contends with an overload of squirrels on a local college campus and receives help from a young veteran, who lost his leg. Stauffachers story emphasizes responsible behavior when interacting with animals in an urban setting, but the messages are never strident. In Keisha's fourth adventure, her family is called upon to save Mt. Mercy College from a squirrel infestation and to help with a similar problem at the local veterans facility. At the same time, Keisha's jump-rope team, the Grand River Steppers, competes in a district-wide contest. Black-and-white illustrations, a "Squirrel Fact File," and a letter from the author enhance the volume.
