Anthony and Vito Giacalone Detroit Mobster Brothers

ebook

The Giacalone brothers are closely associated with the July 30, 1975 disappearance of James Riddle Hoffa, the President of the Teamsters Union. Hoffa was scheduled to meet the brothers along with Genovese family capo Anthony "Tony Pro" Provenzano. The latter had flown in from his home in Union City, New Jersey. In the early afternoon Hoffa placed a phone call to his wife from a Bloomfield, Michigan phone booth. He was never heard from again. The FBI reported finding a Remington Wingmaster 12-gauge shotgun inside a maroon Mercury owned by Joey Giacalone, Anthony's son. The Giacalones were prominent mobsters. Vito held a stake in the failed Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas. Anthony was an enforcer for the Detroit La Cosa Nostra.
